Officers & Committees

Executive Board

Here are the members of the PTSA Executive Board for 2019-2021.  You can reach them individually by clicking on their names or collectively by sending an email to officers@hoyermontessoriptsa.org.

Committees

Because our mission spans many aspects of our students’ education, the PTSA has created committees to address these different areas effectively.  Meet the many PTSA committees that work hard to make our school year amazing.  If you would like to join one or more of these committees, please let us know!

Bylaws

The Bylaws Committee ensures that all of the bylaws for our PTSA are in compliance.  They review the bylaws and receive and review all recommendations for amendments.

Classroom Coordinators

The Classroom Coordinators are made up of one or two representatives for each Hoyer classroom. They work with their respective teachers and staff to make sure that important information is provided to the classroom families.

Communications

The Communications Committee is responsible for effective outreach of PTSA events and projects. We maintain the PTSA bulletin board, compile and publish the PTSA weekly newsletter, maintain the PTSA’s online presence, update Rallyhood, and conduct surveys of the general membership.

Fundraising

The PTSA holds several fundraisers, such as restaurant nights and skate nights, throughout the year and generates some funding through our affinity programs, such as Amazon Smile and Giant A+ Rewards.  The Fundraising Committee organizes these events and helps manage and promote the affinity programs.

Grants

The Grants Committee helps organize our grant-seeking activities.  The committee develops a calendar of upcoming grants and determines which grants best suit the needs of our school.

Green School

The Green School Committee teaches students how to lead a changing world. They support student understanding by modeling sustainable behavior through green operations and building practices.  This year’s goals include enhancing our current recycling program and implementing a cafeteria composting program.

Hoyer Fun Run

The Fun Run is our biggest fundraiser of the year!  It’s no easy task to pull off this event, but after 6 years, the Fun Run Committee has gotten it down to a science. There are a variety of tasks you can, some even from the comfort of your living room!

Indoor Beautification

Get your paintbrushes ready!  The Indoor Beautification Committee is responsible for projects inside the school building.  There are some painting projects already on the docket for this school year.  Whenever there is an indoor project, the Indoor Beautification Committee is there to lend a helping hand!

Membership

We cannot be a successful PTSA without our members!  The Membership Committee helps to recruit members, distribute welcome kits, and even solicit local businesses to offer benefits to PTSA members.  Our membership goal for the year is 160

Montessori Advancement Committee

The Montessori Advancement Committee informs the general membership about the education issues and state/county PTA legislative goals.  They identify school needs that the state and/or county can provide and mobilize the PTSA members to become effective advocates.

Outdoor Beautification & Education

The Outdoor Beautification and Education Committee assists with all things outdoor including outdoor grounds beautification, maintenance and enhancement of our Outdoor Classroom, and researching and planning improvements to our playground spaces!

PTA Reflections

PTA Reflections is a national program that offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students participate by submitting entries through their local PTA/PTSA. Our PTA Reflections Committee works with students and staff, providing guidance on the entry submissions, organizing the local judging, and making sure our winning entries continue on to the next level.

Teacher Appreciation

At Judith P. Hoyer Montessori, we LOVE our teachers and staff!  The Teacher Appreciation Committee plans events and treats for our teachers and staff throughout the year.  The bulk of these events happen during “Teacher Appreciation Week” in May but have also included events like the annual “Welcome Back” luncheon, “Chalk the Walk” and others.
